These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website pawscreston.ca (the "Site"), operated by the Creston Pet Adoption and Welfare Society ("PAWS," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, its servers, or connected systems
• Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Site or the networks connected to it
• Collect or harvest information about other users, or use the Site to send unsolicited communications
• Use any automated means to access the Site in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise noted, all content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, and the PAWS name — is the property of Creston PAWS or its content suppliers and is protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark laws. You may view and download content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or republish any content without our prior written permission.

Donations and Payments

Donations, membership payments, and event registrations made through the Site are processed by our third-party partner, Zeffy. By making a payment, you also agree to the terms of the applicable payment processor. Tax receipts for eligible donations are issued in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency requirements. Adoption, Foster, and Volunteer Applications

Submitting an adoption, foster, or volunteer application through the Site does not guarantee approval. All applications are subject to our review, screening, and approval processes. We reserve the right to approve or decline any application at our discretion and in the best interest of the animals in our care.

Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and embed third-party services (such as Zeffy for payments and Shelterluv for pet listings). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these third parties. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

The Site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we strive to keep information accurate and up to date (including animal availability, which is managed through a third-party system), we do not warrant that the Site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components, or that any information is complete, current, or accurate.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Creston PAWS and its directors, officers, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
