Donation & Refund Policy

Thank you for supporting the Creston Pet Adoption and Welfare Society ("PAWS"). Your generosity directly funds food, shelter, and medical care for animals in our community. Donations, memberships, and event payments made through our website are processed securely by our third-party partner, Zeffy. This policy explains how we handle refunds and cancellations.

Donations to PAWS are voluntary gifts and are generally non-refundable. Once a donation is processed, the funds are put to work caring for animals. However, we understand that mistakes happen, and we will gladly review refund requests in the circumstances described below.

Requesting a Refund

If you believe a donation was made in error, we will review your request in good faith. Common examples include:

• A duplicate or accidental donation
• An incorrect donation amount entered
• An unauthorized transaction

Please contact us at pets@pawscreston.ca within 15 days of your donation, including your name, the donation date, and the amount. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Refunds are granted at the discretion of PAWS and subject to the policies of our payment processor.

You may cancel a recurring donation at any time, and the cancellation will stop all future charges. Cancelling does not refund payments already processed. To cancel or change a recurring gift, contact us at pets@pawscreston.ca or use the management link in your donation confirmation email.

Memberships and Event Tickets

Membership fees and event registrations are generally non-refundable. If an event is cancelled by PAWS, registrants will be offered a refund or the option to redirect their payment as a donation. If you have concerns about a membership or event payment, please contact us.

Eligible donations receive a charitable tax receipt in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency rules. If a donation is refunded after a tax receipt has been issued, the receipt will be cancelled or amended as required by law. Please retain your receipt for your records.
